Incubation Example Project in Mozambique

Description

An example proposal and budget for a 2-year eRiding project in southern Mozambique. This project is a good example of a incubation effort, such the Ungana-Afrika (an experienced eRiding organstaion) helps to incubate a new eRider project in Mozambique with a local partner.

Includes a full 2-year proposal and budget, along with an separate high-level network assessment (assessment plan, report and related materials).


As stated in the project introduction:

"In Southern Mozambique, many CBOs and NGOs have established themselves within the  HIV/AIDS sector, offering community-based services that compliment the medical focus  of governmental  hospitals and clinics. In 2001, the Mozambique Foundation for  Community Development (FDC), in cooperation with USAID,   established a partner  network of such organisations. Since this inception, a lack of ICT support and capacity  has been identified as a restriction to achieving local and network objectives. As a result,  FDC and Ungana-Afrika (a specialist in non-profit ICT support programmes) jointly proposed the implementation of an ICT Capacity-Building and Support program for this  HIV/AIDS network."

"To initiate concept planning in late 2005, FDC and Ungana-Afrika completed an on-site  ICT assessment within this network. This effort solidified the ICT needs of the network, and individual network organisations, while  finalizing project structure and logistics planning.  "
